Coaxial Cable

Coaxial Cable

Coaxial cable is a type of cable that has an inner conductor surrounded by an insulating layer, surrounded by conductive shielding (outer conductor), and a protective outer jacket. The term “coaxial” refers to an inner conductor and an outer shield that share a geometric axis. Today, short-distance coaxial cables are generally used in home audio-visual equipment or in amateur radio equipment, while long-distance coaxial cables are often used as TV signal lines in radio or television networks. In addition, it has also been widely used in Ethernet connections, until now more and more are replaced by twisted pair cable and optical fiber.
